Push Notifications – Microcopy

CHALLENGE:

Push notifications account for more than 50% of the bookings for booking.com. We wanted to communicate as much as possible in the given space, while keeping the tone empathetic.

SOLUTION:

Based on research, I decided to create a template using the timing of the notifications and combining it with the USPs. I also experimented with the use of emojis, so that it could be both fun and appealing.

IMPACT:

On the day of the launch

  • 35% increase in app sessions
  • 327 transactions
  • 1,379 gross accommodation bookings
  • The use of emojis and a combination of USPs showed positive results
